It is true that we cannot make a genius. We can only give to teach a child the chance to fulfill his potential possibilities.
The entry-level grade in most on-going independent schools in New York City is kindergarten. Public schools admit children into kindergarten and first grade. Children who complete three years at Resurrection Episcopal Day School are very well prepared to enter kindergarten with some going directly to first grade.
The exmissions process for on-going schools is under the direction of the Head of School. A detailed packet is provided for families in the spring, prior to the year children will be going through the process. For most children, this is during their third year at REDS.
The Head of School meets on a regular basis with each family throughout the process to discuss appropriate options and provide guidance where necessary. Throughout the year, the Head of School is in communication with the on-going schools and remains connected with each family until the school decisions are delivered.
REDS graduates have received acceptances to the following schools:
The Allen-Stevenson School, The Brearley School, The Browning School, The Buckley School, The Cathedral School, The Chapin School, The Collegiate School, Convent of the Sacred Heart, The Dalton School, The Ethical Culture Fieldston School, Horace Mann School, The Marymount School of New York, The Nightingale-Bamford School, The Riverdale Country School, Saint Ann’s School, St. Bernard’s School, Saint David’s School, St. Ignatius Loyola School, St. Hilda’s & St. Hugh’s School, The Spence School, Trinity School.
