The Annual Fund
The cost of educating children is increasing and at REDS, as with other New York private schools, tuition and fees do not cover the full cost of the child’s education. Annual giving helps to bridge the “per student gap” between tuition and the actual budgeted cost of educating each child, enabling REDS to maintain its high standards of teaching. Included in the budget and supported by annual giving are professional opportunities for faculty and staff as well as financial aid costs.
Annual giving pledges are typically accepted in the fall and fulfilled by the end of the academic year. Each fall, small gatherings are held for parents where REDS board members provide an overview of the budget and the critical role that annual giving and fund raising in general play in helping to cover the school’s operating costs. There are many ways to support the school and all of our development efforts emphasize participation and respect for our families. Every gift makes a difference.

From time to time REDS will embark on a larger project or renovation whereby a Capital Campaign will be implemented to raise funds for these major projects.
Scholarship and Professional Development Funds
In 2012 REDS established distinct funding opportunities for the purpose of supporting extraordinary professional development of faculty and staff. In addition there are also opportunities for providing additional financial aid funding when necessary.
REDS hosts several fundraising events during the school year. These events include but are not limited to the book fair, and the auction. Proceeds from these events fill the gap in the operating budget benefitting the casas, the library and various outreach projects. Please see the schedule of events.
